LATEST NEWS ABOUT QS-7 SYSTEM

Production of the QS-7 is going smoothly, and systems are now shipping from inventory without delay. There have been no mechanical defects encountered, but a few systems had some unexpected shipping damage. This was due to shock from rough handling, resulting in 3 damaged pump motor mounts. We have modified the mount system to double the strength and eliminate that possibility. We will soon be shifting our PC Board production to an automated process which will allow us to keep pace with growing demand.

We have just started production on the Vaculogic In-line Water Trap to help wet pumpers protect their systems from flood accidents. The Trap plugs in-line with the pump- there is nothing to install! Check this one out in the PumpToys store.

QuickSilver 1.5 was released April 20, 2006 and a new update CD/install package has been shipped to owners world wide, prepaid.

THE NEW RELEASE OF QUICKSILVER
QuickSilver 1.5 has an "Install Suite" which gives you many options.

Installation is now mostly automatic; problems associated with the 1.0 version VCP driver install and associations no longer exist. Release 1.5 includes new graphics, the ability to maximize and remove background conflicts, minimize, help button on-screen, improved navigation, elimination of some nuisance limitations and bugs in the editing process, new driver system, a new and far better installation and driver association process. It's showing full compatibility with current Win 98 through XP operating systems, with a few notations listed in the trouble-shooting section of this page. The programs functions are fully recognizable to existing users, and is no new learning curve. The screens are uncluttered, the commands easy to use. It also includes a much larger library of .pro and .run files; 65 ready to run programs!

WHAT'S COMING IN THE FUTURE

More improvements to QuickSilver are already in the works. The list includes:

• The Events list is currently limited to 10 entries. We hope to increase this to allow up to 100 Events in a scrolling display.

• Multi language version is under development now, and will allow the user to select the installed language as English, French, German or Spanish.

• We are evaluating the possibility of creating a MAC version, which would run on the OS-X operating system.

USER FEEDBACK
Feedback is increasing, and as it does we are discovering more of the unique advantages of Dynamic Pumping with the QS-7.

• Faster results and larger results- these are almost universal comments.
• Side effects are greatly diminished. Things like redness, loss of circulation, blisters and conditions some pumpers have when the session is long or exceeds their usual pressure limits are usually not happening. Most users find Dynamic pumping makes a great difference here.
• Serious enlargement enthusiasts are seeing progress improvements that they haven't been able to achieve before.
• Several comments on the noise level- pumpers are shocked that such an effective pump could run so quietly; and as one said- "after two hours, it wasn't even warm". Another points out that placing the server on a soft surface like a carpet or towel instead of a hard reflective surface reduces the sound even more.
• We have many people who have put a tee in the vac line and are buddy pumping to the same rhythm.
• We have some husband/wife couples who are doing this as well!!

QS AVAILABLE DOWNLOAD FILES

The group of zip files below contains 65 .pro and .run files, which are included on the new 1.5 update CD. The .run files included use profiles with run-coded names, (like run1-3.pro) which will be in a separate sub-folder folder when installed. If you have installed the 1.5 update, you DO NOT need to install these files.

TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL, click on the link. Choose the "save to disk" option from the download box, and select the appropriate folder to save too.

Little tricks for 1.5:

• Click the pause button, and the pressure at that moment will be held as a static pressure. You can temporarily extend the low or high levels in an executing program by timing your use of the pause button with the pressure you want to extend. Click again and the program resumes.
  
• Run (Playlist) file creation and editing can be made more logical by key-naming the profiles it contains. Look at the run1.run list of .pro files (included in 1.5) in the playlist, then check the listed .pro files in the Assemble Profile tab to see what has been done. We have created custom versions of existing profiles where the default loop time serves a specific purpose in the run, such as a warm-up or exit phase, and then saved those profiles with names coded for the specific run they will be part of. For example the profile named run1-3.pro is the third profile sequence in the saved playlist file run1.run. The original profile run1-3 was made from is intact under it's original name, and still has it's own default loop setting. The profiles for the included run files are in a subfolder called "Extended".

Troubleshooting tips:

Having errors messages? Tech support has been logging problems reported in tech support calls and the solutions as we have found for them. The majority of problems we have seen with 1.5 come from these sources:

• If you are using Windows 98 or Windows ME Operating Systems, you may get run-time errors if you have not updated those systems. To get updates for 98 or Me, go to The Windows Update Site.
  
• If you are using a USB extension cord or any USB cord beside the type furnished, you may be creating communication faults between the PC and the QS server. The USB cable must be the later high-speed type, and should not be over 10' in length. Shorter is better; the included USB cable is a 6' premium high-speed type.
  
• Due to QuickSilver's intensive use of math, multi-tasking (running multiple programs at the same time) can exceed your CPU's capacity and create error messages. If you are running other programs and get errors, try shutting down the other programs.
  
• Communication speed is vital to QuickSilver 1.5. USB hubs have been made in two grades. The original is USB 1.1 with a communications transfer rate of 12 Mbps (Megabits per second) whereas USB 2.0 is called high speed and has a transfer rating of 480Mbps (40 TIMES faster than 1.1) Systems with USB 1.1 components are more likely to generate errors. If your PC is 2-3 years old or older, you might only have USB 1.1 on your system. You can purchase a USB 2.0 card and install it into your system as an upgrade.
