The injection-molded STJ Precision Seal is a great tool for the pumper- and hard to improve on. However, it is a "working" part and it does have a life span limit. Part of that limit is due to the plasticized PVC it's made of, and we have been looking at alternative materials to develop an even better product without losing the qualities of the soft PVC. This new version of the famous seal is identical in design- it fits the same cylinders in the same way. The only difference is the material. It's cast in a special mold, using a pure high-grade silicone.
The Silicone Seal does not replace the standard version! The costs of silicone material and the process of producing this seal make it much more expensive than the standard seal. The Silicone STJ Seal is an optional upgrade, that will be appreciated by those who pump most frequently or to very large size.
