Especially if you're just getting started/new to pumping, the right place to start is in making sure that you have the facts and understand how the process works. In doing so, you can better select the right equipment, know what to expect, and ensure that you will be able to work towards the goals you want in the safest and most productive method. So, initially I'll begin with a basic rundown on the process, which will also help you to be certain you are choosing the right equipment. The right equipment makes the process go far smoother, and will give you not just better, healthier results, but much quicker and more comfortably.
I can give you a general outline of these things here, and this may better have you prepared for conversation, too, or raise new questions for discussion. Generally, here is a quick rundown on what every vacuum pumper should know when starting out:
- 1.Understanding the basic operations behind vacuum application.
You are utilizing vacuum as a 'tool' to draw fluids within the body (not only blood, but also bodily fluid which is primarily water) into the vascular and tissue structures within the vacuum chamber. This is the vacuum's only purpose. You are in turn using the increased level of blood/body fluid drawn into the region as a means of creating a stretching action both within skin and underlying tissue, as well as in the vascular structure. The desired result in the vascular structure is to enlarge veins/vessels and increase their overall capacity. The desired result in terms of the skin and underlying tissue is two-fold; with repeated application, a small portion of the stretch achieved does not 'return', and becomes a part of what can be considered 'permanent' gains. Also, and equally if not more important, when skin/dermal tissue is stretched to the proper level it 'triggers' a natural response in the body called 'cellular generation', in which the growth of new tissue cells is activated. This action is entirely independent of the growth associated with puberty or youth; cellular generation is possible at any age or stage of life- it merely needs to be 'turned on'. When vacuum is utilized/applied repetitiously, at safe and proper levels, and in combination with the method of varying rates known as 'dynamic' pumping, the user maximizes both the effectiveness and results they can achieve. It is essential that users understand that this process requires patience and dedication, and attempts to 'speed' results by using increased vacuum levels or otherwise 'cutting corners' will only result in reduced effectiveness and possible personal injury, both temporary and permanent.
- 2. The "Newton's Law" of vacuum application.
I refer to it as such because this rule is an absolute law of physics when speaking of how the body will respond when vacuum is applied. No matter the level or intensity at which vacuum is applied, the body's reaction will always be to first expand/extend in the direction/path of least resistance, period. In terms of the penis, this initially means girth-wise. The penile tissue will engorge/expand in a side-to-side, girth-wise or thickness direction until there is essentially no further available space within the tube/cylinder/chamber being used, or the level of resistance to further girth-wise expansion equals/becomes greater than the tissue's resistance to lengthening. Only then will the forces of vacuum begin to create any distal or length-wise actions. This is a vitally important basic of vacuum application to keep in mind, as it should always be a consideration in the selection of style and size cylinder/enclosure to be used, e.g. someone wishing to focus on length gains should avoid use of cylinders excessive in width, instead selecting a tube having a diameter/circumference close in size to their current fully erect penile diameter/circumference. This is also the primary reason behind recommendations that penis tube size used/purchased be kept to not more than 1/2" larger in diameter than your current size, gradually working into larger sizes by 'staged increments'. Use of excessively wide penis tubes removes your only means of controlled enlargement, necessary to maintain a more natural, proportional growth. Repeated engorgement without this control will eventually lead to undesirable, distorted results which can be both permanent and include reduced/impaired penile function.
What should I expect as I begin? As mentioned/explained above, naturally you will see a large increase of fluid incurred. Where many people only think in terms of vacuum increasing the amount of blood in the region, there is actually an equal or larger volume of body fluid/water drawn in. There is nothing wrong with this, and in truth it is important to be well-hydrated when pumping so that there is body fluid available for use to help reduce stress on tissues. The balance of blood vs. water drawn into a particular region varies according to the tissue structure in that region; the majority of the penile shaft tissue is fairly open and sponge-like in design and fluid is easily drawn in, whereas the glans or head of the penis is made up of a very densely packed tissue containing a very high concentration of capillaries and tightly networked nerve endings, thus making engorgement of the glans region a much slower process.
Initially, yes, it is normal to experience both a moderate sense of 'tightness' in the skin, as well as the soft and mild tender sensations. Also normal may be some mild redness in the skin of the shaft areas, sometimes appearing stronger, even what might be called slightly 'purple' in the glans. What you do not want to feel/see is: any prolonged sensation of 'pain', appearance of tiny dark red or purple 'dots' on the glans or shaft, skin appearing particularly dark or 'bruised' in coloration, or the appearance of small water blisters anywhere on the penis. These are all initial 'warning signs' of subjecting tissues to a higher than safe level of vacuum and/or too long a period of exposure.
So how long and at what vac level should I be working? There is no singular rate/scale/chart of reference for safe vac levels/times one should use, because none exists, and anyone offering such should not be trusted. The appropriate, safe levels/time for use varies greatly one person to another; what might be safe for you won't be equally safe for anyone else, and what is safe for you will change over time. Safe levels are affected by a huge number of factors in varied degrees, including age, general health, body hydration, smoker vs non-smoker, etc. Because it is impossible for anyone other than a personal physician to venture any estimation of what is correct for you, each of us must begin from what is considered a generally safe starting guideline, paying close attention and keeping record of their own regimen/reactions and adjusting this slowly to find the right 'balance' which works well for them. Someone who is just starting, new to pumping, is also advised to begin slowly, cautiously, as initially this is something 'new' to the body; never dealt with before, and takes a little time 'getting used to it'. A simple and very accurate analogy here is to think of it in comparison to "working out" at a gym; you begin slowly, allowing the body time to adjust, gradually increasing your session lengths and intensity over time. As mentioned earlier, trying to 'speed up' results will only work against you, and years of study and research have proven that, for everyone, the fastest, healthiest results are obtained through:
- Lower overall vacuum levels, best ranging between 2.0 and 5.0Hg (Hg= inches of mercury, seen as the scale printed in black on most vacuum gauges)
- Shorter, more frequent sessions are more effective than fewer long sessions. Two 15-20 minute sessions, one morning, one evening, is more effective than a single 1-hour session.
- Use of 'dynamic' pumping theory vs. static methods is essential. If unfamiliar with this term, dynamic theory means that during a session the vacuum level is varied up/down every few minutes; this creates a 'stretch & release' action in the tissues which not only promotes increased/improved blood circulation but increased oxygenation to the region, both important and beneficial elements needed to achieve healthy gains/growth.
I hope that you will find this info useful in better understanding how the process works; it is important to know both for your safety as well as helping to guide you towards 'getting the right equipment for the job'.
