PUMPTOYS PRECISION SEALS, FLEX-RINGS AND BRK COLLARS are made by a process of LP Injection Molding, from a soft and elastic form of PVC thermoplastic. These are "working parts"; they continually flex to adapt to pressure or position changes, and they are exposed to stretch and chemical stresses as well.  Improperly used or cared for- it could be damaged quickly. Proper handling, care and storage of a seal will insure a long life. If you are buying any PVC soft plastic product, BE SURE and read the specific product use & care information!!

• This material has a fluid component called a plasticizer; it is what keeps the material soft. This plasticizer will eventually be lost (3-5 years in an unused product) resulting in hardening of the seal. Pumping accelerates that process in seals, just by the application of the vacuum environment it works in. However, it can be accelerated dramatically in a seal by improper use and care.


• Be careful not to nick or cut the surface of the material. A small nick will cause a "stress riser" that will later allow the product to tear easily when stretched or stressed at that point. This is why plastic bags tear easily- once you get a rip started.


• STORAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT! Store seals closed IN THE ORIGINAL POLY SLIDE LOCK BAG, or the equivalent. It's important to store the seal flat- either side up, and do not allow other objects to rest on it. This plastic will take a "set" (permanent change of shape) if stored in a distorted position.


• There is a dispersion of light oil (this is free plasticizer) that comes from this plastic, which quickly diminishes in volume but never fully ends. This plastic oil will react with certain other materials, and the reaction can damage the seal, the surface in contact with it, or both. Specifically- avoid contact with styrene plastics and varnished surfaces. Since most cylinders are made of acrylic, it can be used on most plastic cylinders.


• Limit the stretching to what you need; do it smoothly and gently. Because it's soft, the material is also subject to tearing if stretched or pinched beyond it's limits.

• Silicone products include the Silicone STJ Seal (#STJS) and seals for VelSeal Penis tubes.


• These seals are compatible with most lubricants, including our recommended lube, GLYDE.


• Silicone products are more elastic than PVC's, but still should not be stretched more than required- Soft products should always be handled gently; their very nature (softness) makes them vulnerable. Silicones are also subject to the stress-riser aspect of soft plastics; a small cut can expand into a tear that ruins the product.


• Silicone products, like PVC's- have a memory that is affected by time, and can take what we call a "set". That means if you create a compression or stretch in it's shape and hold it for an extended period of time, the material will be distorted permanently. This does not affect normal use, but is important in regards to storage between uses. Store flat, don't allow other items to lay on the product, and store in cool places.

PUMPTOYS CYLINDERS
Combination cylinders are large, and used to pump penis and balls together. Penis cylinders are used to pump the penis only. All PumpToys cylinders come with seals! Large cylinders (ASTJ, BMC, LJC) use the PVC plastic "STJ Precision Seal", which makes that far more comfortable than any other cylinders on the market. The seal can be upgraded to our SILICONE version. Be sure and read the Seal Info above.

Penis cylinders (the VELSEAL Line) use Silicone Vel-Seals, and are the only penis tubes on the market that were designed specifically for a seal system. Any other penis-tube seal is an add-on device...

Our cylinders are made of premium optical clarity Cell-cast Acrylics, with wall thickness up to 1/4" thick. End caps are either thermal-formed or machined fittings. Special contoured cylinders, like the BULLMASTER and ASTJ are shaped by our own Thermal-Hydraulic Forming process (THF). ALL PumpToys cylinders are thermally stabilized, cured and stress-relieved after finishing!

Maintenance: Usually, the only maintenance needed is to wash with warm water and mild dishwashing detergent after each use. The acrylics we use are very tough, but they can be scratched. Scratches can be removed with Novus #2 plastic scratch removing polish. This polish will also restore clarity and luster to a dull cylinder wall.

Chemical exposure: Certain chemicals can severely damage acrylics, particularly the more volatile petrochemical solvents. For example, finger nail polish remover (acetone) will damage the surface of your cylinder instantly. Avoid contact with solvents! Acrylics are damaged on a gradual basis by many lubricants that have petrochemical bases, such as Vaseline and Albolene. This kind of damage takes considerable time, but eventually shows up as loss of clarity, crazing and brittleness. Avoid these; use vegetable base lubes only and clean your cylinder before storing. Our recommended lube is Glyde.

BRK BALL-RINGER AND FLEXRINGS
The nut collar of the BRK and our FlexRings are made of the same material as our Precision Seals, and should be handled in the same way. Be sure and read the Seals Information.

NOTE: NEVER use the BRK or any rigid restriction around you while pumping! That risks serious loss of circulation and injury as well as great difficulty in removing the restriction after body parts have enlarged. FlexRings are often used while pumping, but be advised that these also have a limit of elasticity and can create a loss of circulation. Unlike most rigid devices, Flexrings are easily cut to remove should the need arise.
