STJ Seal Care & Usage Guide

Below is a brief outline which we ask that anyone considering purchase of the original STJ Precision Seal or the 100% Silicone STJ Precision Seal take a few moments to read, particularly if you are planning to use your STJ Seal in conjunction with a DIY Converted Chamber, such as a Sun Tea Jar or other similar modified cylinder setting in which the STJ Seal will need to perform while in contact with or attached to a chamber that will be used under vacuum, but which is not a chamber or cylinder originally manufactured for this use.

Both versions of the STJ Seal are manufactured from materials which are generally categorized as 'soft plastics'. While both are manufactured to a high quality standard, any soft plastic product on the market is not impervious to possible damage, and once damaged this often means the end of the product's life and useability as damaged surfaces quickly increase in size until the item ultimately fails.

When a product like our STJ Seal is placed into service under conditions which are entirely beyond our ability to control or ensure as suitable, this responsibility rests upon the user / buyer's shoulders. As such, we want to provide you with a reasonable outline for care and use of the product that, when followed, will help make sure that your STJ Seal provides the service you expect, and does so for a long time. Following these easy steps cannot guarantee your seal will last for any precise or presumed period of time, but they will provide you with the basic care and usage methods that are the most critical for reducing or preventing accidental damage to the product that would render it unuseable.
